Limestone tile installation
If you want a natural, cosy and comfortable environment for your home, please contact us and we will find the solution that suits you best.
Limestone is an ideal companion for the natural environment. Be it in the countryside, paths in the green areas or the grill areas.
The limestones that can be installed may be different – for example, in one size, free-form, broken, flattened or polished.
As with the installation of paving stones, the surface of limestone tile base is a very important factor.
It is important to make sure that the excavation is done properly, and make sure that the substrate of gravel and sand are sealed. For a free-form limestone tile, you would need to knock the plate with the hammer according to the strings.
Later, a dry mix or, for example, sand is brushed between the joints as desired by the client.
As with all other rocks, corresponding heights and slopes must be carried to the cobblestone sites. Afterwards, a proper excavation should be made with rubble and sand cushion.
Cobblestone slabs also need to be tapped with cords and straighteners to set the stones in place. Finally, the joints are filled with either sand or dry mix, depending on the client’s wishes.

Installation of cobblestone
As we all know, two completely identical cobblestones cannot be found in nature.
This is also the reason why it is so time consuming and expensive to build a cobblestone road or square. The placement of each cobblestone is preceded by a choice of stone of appropriate size and shape.
Because the sellers of cobblestones have also had to work hard to find the stones, then the price of cobblestone road or square will be significantly higher than that of concrete paving stones.
Just like limestone tiles, cobblestone fits in environments close to nature too. Cobblestone can also be used on seaside walkways, campfire sites, flag squares, edges of the flowerbeds and parking lots.
However, in our medieval towns there are quite a few road sections, squares and grounds where the construction of a cobblestone pavement is the only conceivable solution. Imagine, for example, walking upwards along Tallinn’s Pikk Jalg, if the pavement itself had been covered with concrete pavement, in addition to the sidewalk.
Installation of granite stones
We offer installation of various granite stones. Granite rock, also known for its durable structure, does not crumble like the shale found in our minerals. Granites are different in nature: broken dice stone (5-8 cm), granite segment (10-14 cm).
Depending on the thickness of the stone, the stones are used at different loads, whether for walkways or driveways. For roadways, cement is recommended as the substrate as it hardens and can withstand loads better. The joints are filled with either sand or cement as needed.
Installation of different rocks
In Estonia, natural stones of different varieties and colours are also found, thanks to their great popularity, we and our Kiviguru team have found a way to install them. One of the great advantages of natural stones is that they are lifelong. Thanks to their long life, this work process is also longer and more complex.
At first, excavation must be done, followed by the construction of a decent rubble base, on which a concrete base with the right slopes is poured (7-15 cm). If the substrate has dried properly, installation of natural stone tiles with special glue is started.
Once the tiles are in place, the joints of the tiles must be filled with a special adhesive. After filling the joints, the tiles must be washed immediately, first with plain water and then with a special agent to help remove the last pieces of the mixture from the tiles.
The finish includes stone protection, which gives the stones a beautiful and durable layer, which should ideally be serviced every two years, that is, rubbed with the same protective fluid.
